Advisory: Florida State of Emergency - Hurricane Dorian

Updated: Now includes Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.

On Wednesday Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 26 Florida counties including all of South Florida, as Hurricane Dorian approaches. States of emergency have been subsequently declared in Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.

  • Florida counties in declared states of emergency: Baker, Bradford, Brevard, Broward, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Glades, Hendry, Highlands, Indian River, Lake, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Nassau, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Putnam, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Volusia, and Union.
  • Georgia counties in declared states of emergency: Brantley, Bryan, Camden, Charlton, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Pierce, Wayne.
  • South Carolina counties in declared states of emergency: Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Horry, Georgetown, Jasper.
  • North Carolina counties in declared states of emergency: Carteret, Craven, Currituck, Dare, Duplin, Hyde, Onslow.
