The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) announced today a new interactive web page that allows consumers to access years of historical Do Not Call (DNC) and Robocall data with information on types of calls and spikes in complaints.
The page, hosted on a Tableau Public interface, will be updated quarterly with new data. Consumers can use the page to drill down to specific states our counties to get information on types of telemarketing calls being reported in their area and can also explore the database by topic.
The new page will allow searching for which types of calls generate the most complaints with the FTC and will be used for tracking complaints over time to show trends in the data. Statistics, including total numbers on the DNC registry, the number and types of entities accessing the registry to scrub their data and the number of robocall complaints by month are also available.
The FTC has created this page in an effort to be more transparent about how it collects data and to make that data easier for consumers to use.
